Inspired by his association with Hôtel de la Paix in Siem Reap, Mr. Khoy Dara has incorporated community awareness as part of the identity of his newly remodeled restaurant, Selantra.

Dara has reached out to their community and family, adopting four orphaned children in their family of 4 kids. He seeks to provide his guests with opportunities to experience Cambodia beyond the tourist sites and street scenes, and to engage in assisting the country in its development.

The restaurant features educational and guide materials for guests to visit villages and families, children's homes, hospitals and health clinics, schools, and NGOs who provide the bulk of social services for Cambodia.

Guests can make donations to a variety of these programs at the restaurant, as well. There will be rotating photo displays to describe and educate guests about the needs and services that merit their support, as well as brochures to assist in planning visits.

Customized community-based activities such as rice sponsorship, educational support, water well donations, school uniforms and supplies and other one-off contributions and long-term sponsorships may also be facilitated.

Selantra is pleased to provide these unique opportunities to travelers who wish to have an impact on the welfare of the countries they enjoy through tourism. We do this through our contacts in the community - where we are able to assure the legitimate local needs and where accountability is guaranteed.
